Lyle began in middle school learning that she wanted to be in broadcasting. Courtney put her sights on desiring to work for a prominent network, which transpired to be ESPN. Courtney recalls bringing the offer to be full-time. She recalls feeling that this is what she has been working for, and it has been worth every holiday and family gathering she missed. Courtney did not rise up playing sports like many people in the industry. Though her knowledge of going to sporting events with her dad flourished into her love for the games.
When documenting some of her biggest mentors, Courtney’s dad polished at the top of the list. In high school, she operated for the high school TV station WBHS-9, at Brentwood High School. Her father would remain up late with her assisting with questions to request the football coach the next day. Prior to entering ESPN, Courtney operated at WBIR based in Knoxville, Tenn. While in college, Courtney operated for the women’s athletic programs at UT.
She correspondingly assisted in producing the Pat Summitt Show in her senior year which was her last year of coaching. Nowadays, Courtney operates for ESPN and SEC Network as a play-by-play commentator for many sports such as volleyball, softball, and basketball. Although not many ladies were working in this field, Courtney was never frightened to enter the field.
