She devoured much of her life competitively figure skating before setting her eyes on journalism while in school at The University of Colorado in Boulder.
Plum TV in Aspen, Colorado was her foremost visit in broadcasting. After a winter season, Katie steered to Coos Bay, Oregon, to work as a multimedia journalist there prior to moving to a comparable role in Eugene. There, she predicted the varying Pacific Northwest weather, covered stories varying from politics to housing issues to community events, and subsequently became the evening news anchor.
